Privacy

The Valuator is a free beer value calculator. It's built to collect as little as possible — there are no accounts, no logins, and we never ask for your name, email, or any personal details.

What you type stays on your device

The beers you enter (names, prices, sizes) and your settings (theme, units, dismissed tips) are saved only in your own browser, using its local storage. This information never leaves your device — it isn't sent to us or to any server, and we can't see it. Clearing the list, or clearing your browser data, removes it.

Analytics

To understand how many people visit and which features are used, we use two privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics tools: Cloudflare Web Analytics and GoatCounter.

They record only aggregate, anonymous information — such as page views, approximate country, browser and device type, the page that linked to us, and anonymous in-app events (for example, that a "share" button was used). They do not use cookies, do not track you across other websites, and do not build a profile of you. No personal data is collected.

Cookies

This site sets no tracking or advertising cookies. (Your saved beers and settings use your browser's local storage, which stays on your device, as described above.)

Links to other sites

The site links to Ko-fi (if you'd like to support the project) and to our Facebook page. Those services have their own privacy policies, which apply once you leave The Valuator.

Hosting

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages and delivered via Cloudflare. As with any website, the host and content-delivery network may process standard technical request data (such as IP addresses) to deliver the site and keep it secure.

Age

The Valuator relates to alcoholic drinks and is intended for people of legal drinking age (18+ in the UK). It is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above.
